I Know God's Will for Your Life: It's Right Now.
This week we asked the question: What is God's will for my life?
If you missed the sermon, you can watch it back here.
There is one answer to the question, What is God's will for my life? The answer is Right now. I know it doesn't seem like it makes sense, but it's actually the only answer that makes any sense once you understand it. We often look into the future for God's will: where should I go to college, where should I live, what should my profession be, who should I marry, etc. But if this question is always phrased for tomorrow, we'll never accomplish God's will for today. The truth is that God has a plan for you right now in this moment. Whether it's 8:00am in traffic, 2:30pm in an office meeting, or 9:00pm putting your kids to bed - God has a plan for you right now in this moment. But you'll always miss what God wants to do through you in this moment if you're only looking for what He can do through you in the next one. This moment is the only reality that exists for you, so you have to live fully in it, because God has a purpose for you in it. Don't let the distractions of others' lives on social media, your upcoming event, or your current stress outside of this moment steal what God can do through you right now. As Joyce Meyer says, "Worry is down payment on a problem you may never have." And as Jesus said, "Don't worry about tomorrow, because today's going to bring enough trouble of its own." So look around and listen. What is God trying to do through you right now?
Open my eyes to see and my ears to hear what You want to do through me in this moment right now.
